400 language lovers from all over the globe met at the beautiful Vigadó building in Budapest (Hungary) on the 27th and 28th October 2023 to delve into multilingualism. Inspiring talks, latest research, and insights into polyglots and polyglotism, as well as practical applications of language skills characterized this meeting.
Accomplished polyglots like Richard Simcott, who has explored more than 50 languages and founded international polyglot events 10 years ago, Luca Lampariello, and Helen Abadzi gave thought-provoking talks on polyglotism. Next to these big names also young polyglots like the 20-year-old TJ Huizar, an American adventurer and filmmaker, who taught himself over a dozen languages and travels to forgotten corners of the world, were simply inspiring. https://www.youtube.com/@ThePlanetProject
Also I was a speaker at this year’s Polyglot Conference. For the Polyglot Conference Global, which is an online event, I had submitted a video presentation on findings of my doctoral thesis on polyglots. For the live event in Budapest, I spoke about some claims of the Hungarian polyglot Kató Lomb and compared them to some findings of my study.
